Karma Without Revenge โ My Understanding of Balance
The essay
What if karma isn't about somebody getting what they deserve, but about life finding its way back into balance? ๐ That's where my understanding of karma is a little different from how I often hear people describe it. A lot of people associate karma with consequences, especially when somebody does something wrong and something bad eventually happens to them. And I understand that interpretation. But personally, I see karma as something much broader. I believe karma is connected to the balance of energy, not simply the punishment of wrongdoing. Imagine a scale with positive and negative energy on either side. When one side becomes overwhelmingly heavy, I believe there's a natural movement toward restoring balance. That doesn't necessarily mean somebody who hurt you has to suffer. And it doesn't mean someone experiencing hardship did something to deserve it. In my understanding, karma can also represent the positive energy that helps restore balance after periods of overwhelming pain or negativity. I'm not presenting that as a universal law I've proven. It's my spiritual interpretation, shaped by what I've studied, observed, and experienced.
When I look at my own life, I've had periods when it seemed like everything that could go wrong was happening at once. I've experienced destructive relationships, financial struggles, unexpected setbacks, and moments when I genuinely wondered what else life had waiting for me. ๐คฃ But I've also experienced remarkable changes in direction. I've discovered creative abilities, learned to build technology, started businesses, and found purpose in helping others through things I've learned myself. I don't believe those opportunities were automatically owed to me because I suffered. I made choices, put in work, and kept moving. But spiritually, I see those experiences as reminders that life isn't permanently defined by one side of the scale. That's also why I don't believe I need revenge to restore balance. If I respond to every hurt by creating more hurt, I'm contributing to the very imbalance I want corrected. Through DEEMYX PrayerIQ, I encourage a simple reflection: "Am I trying to restore peace, or am I trying to make someone else feel my pain? What can I change within myself and my circumstances without creating more harm?"
I respect that other spiritual traditions understand karma differently. I'm not trying to replace those teachings or convince anyone my interpretation is the correct one. I'm simply sharing what makes sense to me: karma isn't always about watching someone receive something bad. Sometimes it's about recognizing the possibility of something good restoring balance after everything you've endured. ๐ฆ
