The research center

The Historical Jesus

Examining who Jesus was through non-biblical historical references, early writings, archaeology, competing scholarly arguments, and textual criticism. Not conventional apologetics — honest inquiry, including the hostile witnesses and the hard limits of the evidence.

How this center works

Three labels, never blended

Every study published here keeps these separate — on the page, in plain sight. Readers should always know which kind of statement they're reading.

Historical evidence

What surviving documents and credible scholarship establish.

Faith & tradition

What religious communities believe or teach.

Interpretation

Reasoned readings of the evidence — what may be possible, meaningful, or worthy of further investigation.

The prevailing scholarly position accepts that Jesus existed as a first-century Jewish figure and was crucified. Historical research alone does not establish supernatural claims — and this center will not pretend otherwise.
